Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

1. Graduate Teacher (Arts)

• Arts or Commerce Graduate or Post Graduate in Arts or Commerce from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or equivalent).

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from an NCTE-recognized institution.

2. Graduate Teacher (Science)

• Science Graduate or Post Graduate in Science from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or equivalent).

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from an NCTE-recognized institution.

3. Graduate Teacher (Hindi)

• Pravin Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks and degree qualification with 50% marks OR Post Graduate degree in Arts with 50% marks from a recognized University; OR BA with 50% marks and Hindi as one of the subjects with 50% marks.

• B.T. / B.Ed. degree from any recognized University (Parangat is treated as B.Ed. only for Hindi teaching).

4. Graduate Teacher (Sanskrit)

• Shastri with 50% marks and degree qualification with 50% marks OR Post Graduate degree in Arts with 50% marks; OR BA with 50% marks and Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks.

• B.T. / B.Ed. degree from any recognized University.

5. Graduate Teacher (Santali)

• Arts Graduate or Post Graduate in Arts with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation and B.Ed. from an NCTE-recognized institution.

• Must have passed HSLC or equivalent with Santali Language as a subject, or hold a Diploma in Santali Language issued by Axom Santali Sahitya Shobha.

Note on Distance Education: Degrees/diplomas from off-campus study centres outside Assam not recognized by DEC under UGC are invalid. However, degrees/diplomas conferred by KKHSOU, IGNOU, IDOL under Gauhati University, and Distance Education under Dibrugarh University are valid. Candidates with “NOT CLEAR (NC)” status are ineligible.

Age Limit (As on 1st January 2026)

• Unreserved Category: 18 to 40 years

• Ex-Servicemen: Up to 42 years

• OBC / MOBC: Up to 43 years

• SC / ST(P) / ST(H): Up to 45 years

Selection Criteria BTC Kokrajhar Recruitment 2026

• Teachers Eligibility Test cum Recruitment Test: Total 140 marks structured as follows:

  • Pedagogy: 50 marks

  • About Assam and its People: 50 marks

  • General English: 30 marks

  • General Studies and Current Affairs: 10 marks

• Additional Marks / Weightage:

  • NCC / Sports / Fine Arts: Up to 5 marks (5 marks for NCC “C” certificate or 3 for “B”; or 5 marks for national-level sports/cultural representation representing Assam).

  • TET Weightage: Candidates who passed earlier High School TET and remain unappointed get weightage @ 5% of marks secured in TET (maximum 5 marks).

  • BTC Contractual Engagement: Additional 5 marks for eligible candidates engaged on a 6-month contractual basis by BTC authority in 2025 for Mathematics and Science in ME, High & Higher Secondary schools under BTC.

• Merit List: Stream-wise separate merit lists (Arts, Science, Hindi, Sanskrit) will be prepared based on TET-cum-Recruitment Test and weightages.
