Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

1. Professor in Information Technology

• Essential Qualifications:

  • An eminent scholar with a Ph.D. degree in IT / concerned, allied, or relevant discipline, published works of high quality, active research engagement, a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of 120.

  • Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in a University/College as Assistant/Associate/Professor, or research experience at an equivalent level with successful guidance of doctoral candidates.

  • Alternatively: An outstanding professional with a Ph.D. in relevant/applied disciplines from academic/industry backgrounds with 10 years of significant contributions.

• Desirable Qualifications: Degree/Diploma in distance education, working experience in a distance education institution, computer proficiency, and fluency in Assamese and English.

• Age Limit: As per UGC norms.

2. Controller of Examinations

• Essential Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.

  • At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in Academic Level 11 and above, or 8 years of service in Academic Level 12 and above (including Associate Professor) with educational administration experience; OR comparable experience in research establishment/higher education institutions; OR 15 years of administrative experience, including 8 years as Deputy Registrar or equivalent.

• Desirable Qualifications: Ph.D. degree, experience in conducting public examinations in a university (Open University experience preferred), degree/diploma in distance education, and working knowledge of computers.

• Age Limit: Not more than 55 years as on the last date of application (no upper age limit for regular internal employees fulfilling conditions).
