Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
Essential General Qualification
Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout.
Post-Specific Experience Requirements
Professor: Minimum 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience, of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor.
Associate Professor: Minimum 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience, of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent.
Assistant Professor (Grade-I): Ph.D. with 3 or more years of post-qualification teaching/research/industrial experience (excluding Ph.D. tenure).
Assistant Professor (Grade-II – on Contract): Fresh Ph.D. or candidates with less than 3 years of experience. Appointed on contract for the first three years.
Age Limit RGIPT Faculty Recruitment 2026
Assistant Professor: Upper age limit is 35 years (calculated as of 1st May 2026 for Cycle I and 1st November 2026 for Cycle II). Age relaxations for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) apply as per Government of India norms.
