Educational Qualification

The required educational qualification is considered as on 31 July 2026. The qualification varies according to the stream.

General Stream

Candidates must possess any one of the following:

  • Master’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma of minimum two years’ duration in any discipline; or

A Master’s Degree in Mathematics along with a one-year postgraduate diploma in Statistics or a related subject is also included in the prescribed qualification.

Actuary Stream

Candidates must have:

  • Graduation from a recognized University/Institute; and
  • Passed or obtained exemption in all Seven (07) Core Principles subjects of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) Examination.

Official Language (Rajbhasha) Stream

Candidates must possess one of the prescribed qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level; or
  • Master’s Degree in Sanskrit/English/Economics/Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level; or
  • Master’s Degree in both English and Hindi/Hindi Translation from a recognized University/Institute.

Note: Candidates should also be computer literate and conversant with MS Office applications such as MS Word and MS Excel.


Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 30 years as on 31 July 2026. Candidates must have been born on or after 01 August 1996.

Age Relaxation

  • SC/ST: 5 years
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years, with higher relaxation applicable for eligible PwBD candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST categories as prescribed
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 years

The notification also provides for cumulative age relaxation in certain cases where candidates belong to more than one eligible relaxation category.


Salary

The pay scale for Officer Grade ‘A’ is:

₹62,500 – 3,600 (4) – ₹76,900 – 4,050 (7) – ₹1,05,250 – EB – 4,050 (4) – ₹1,21,450 – 4,650 (1) – ₹1,26,100

The pay scale is applicable over a period of 17 years.

According to the official notification, the gross emoluments at the minimum of the scale are approximately ₹2,05,000 per month, including PFRDA’s contribution towards NPS and various allowances.

Selection Process PFRDA Officer Grade A Recruitment 2026

The selection process consists of three stages:

Phase I → Phase II → Phase III (Interview)

Phase I

Phase I is an online screening examination consisting of two papers of 100 marks each. Candidates must secure the required paper-wise and aggregate cut-offs to qualify for Phase II. Marks obtained in Phase I are used only for shortlisting and are not counted in the final selection.

Phase II

Phase II consists of two papers of 100 marks each. Candidates need to secure the required paper-wise and aggregate cut-offs to qualify for the interview stage. Up to five times the number of vacancies may be shortlisted for Phase III based on merit.

Phase III – Interview

Only candidates shortlisted after Phase II will be called for the interview.

For final selection:

  • Phase II Written Examination: 85% weightage
  • Phase III Interview: 15% weightage

The final selection will be based on the combined marks obtained in Phase II and Phase III.
